Our children’s ‘Active Team’ work with the adults on the Active Schools programme. The team meet regularly to identify priorities, offer suggestions, problem-solve any issues and plan new ideas. The 6th Class children take the lead. They meet with the adults to give feedback and all of the suggestions agreed are put into our Action Plan. The children talk to their individual classes to share what has been suggested. They also share information at assemblies.
We have a noticeboard for our Active School Flag news.
In our praise assembly, we share good news each week. When children are successful at sports and activities outside of school, we take the time to celebrate their achievements.
We have good partnerships with local sports clubs, who come in during the year to give taster sessions, including the GAA.
Coaches from Rugby Ireland and IABA Boxing also work with classes throughout the year.
Our athletics team attend the Santry Athletics Competition organised by Cumann na mBunscol in May.
