Photocall – Gum Litter Taskforce

Our Green Schools team remind us regularly to throw our litter in the bin. This week, 5th Class took part in a special photo shoot with the Gum Litter Taskforce to help the citizens of Dublin to put their gum in the bin and keep our streets clean.

Power In Me – Summer Video

We have been working hard over the last couple of weeks to put together a special summer performance.

The song is called ‘Power in Me’ and is all about believing in yourself, being a strong upstander and finding your inner power and strength to achieve your goals.

Summer Provision

We will be running a range of summer programmes for children this year.

There will be a special programme for the children in our ASD Special Class, a school and home-based programme for children with additional needs, and two DEIS literacy and numeracy summer camps. We will be supplementing this provision with funding from school and the School Completion Programme to offer two weeks of camp for all children who would like to take part.

Visit from Minister for Education

We were delighted to welcome Minister for Education, Norma Foley, to our school this week to launch the ‘Language Sampler’ module which will be available to all primary schools in late 2021.

Africa Day

Our 5th Class children featured on RTE’s News2Day programme today to celebrate Africa Day!

The children were treated to a wonderful workshop on languages from Southern Africa by Langalihle Nkambule who shared several languages, poems, stories and songs. We also welcomed Adekunle Gomez from the Africa Institute in Ireland.
