National Children’s Choir

All of our 5th and 6th Class children took part in the National Children’s Choir this year. The children learned a wide range of repertoire from different music genres and in different languages. It was a big challenge and we were so proud of them when they sang with a beautiful orchestra and other children around Dublin in the National Basketball Arena in April. Four lucky children were then selected to sing at the national concerts with children from across Ireland in the National Concert Hall. A beautiful event with stunning singing – what a fabulous opportunity. ]

Our World Awards

Our Diversity and Inclusion Team presented certificates to 3rd, 4th and 5th Class for their participation in the Our World Awards 2025. Congratulations to all of the classes involved for their fantastic learning.

STEM Showcase

We held our annual STEM Showcase this week to celebrate and share all of the learning that has taken place across the school in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths this year. So many parents/carers joined us for the afternoon and everyone had lots of fun.

Global Citizenship Schools – One Minute Video

We created a one-minute video for Global Citizenship Schools to highlight all of the learning taking place across our school in relation to Global Citizenship. Check it out!

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge á cheiliúradh againn an tseachtain seo chaite. I rith na seachtaine, bhí na páistí ag foghlaim Gaeilge, ag canadh amhráin Ghaeilge agus ag damhsa le chéile. Ar an Aoine, bhí céilí mór agus ceol againn sa halla. Míle buíochas le Seán agus Michelle as an gceol álainn, le Claire as an rince iontach agus le Ali as an seachtain a phleanáil.

We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge this week. Throughout the week, the children were learning Irish, singing Irish songs and dancing together. On Friday, we had a big céilí and music in the hall. Thank you very much to Seán and Michelle for the beautiful music, to Claire for the great dancing and to Ali for planning the week.

World Book Day 2025

What a great World Book Day we had! The children had lots of opportunities to choose the books they like to read and lots of time to read them. We had book cafés, sharing stories from home, curling up in cosy spaces, making bookmarks and writing book reviews, visiting our favourite book shop, Chapters on Parnell Street with our vouchers – so much fun and so much reading!

Thank you to Derek who coordinated and to our class teachers to provide the children so many opportunities to read every day.

Science Blast 2025

We are very proud of the five classes who presented their projects at Science Blast in the RDS this week. The children came up with some brilliant questions to investigate and the judges were very impressed with the confidence they showed explaining their results.

Huge thanks, as always, to our brilliant class teachers – James, Shauna, Andy, Greg and Ali who prepared the children so well and to all the team who supported the children on the day.

Visit from Ministers for Education

We welcomed the new Minister for Education, Helen McEntee, and the new Minister for Special Education, Michael Moynihan, to our school this week. We were asked to host the Ministers to launch this year’s Summer Programme. This is the Government-funded summer camps that take place in schools across Ireland during the summer period.

The Ministers were greeted by Nadine and Abdi from the Student Council and then met a group of children who took part in our summer programme last year who talked about their positive experiences. They were excellent ambassadors for our school – well done children!
